Yes I have a larger flock of over 20 birds ranging from ages 4 months to 2 years and the chicks have been near them before. Their bedding is 100% dry as can be since I spot clean their poop spots a lotWhen you said "treat the whole flock", do you have others besides these chicks?
You don't need to dose any adults but treat all your 8 week olds.
As for prevention, cleanliness is ok but the key is to keep the bedding bone dry. The coccidia can't complete their lifecycle in the absence of moisture.
Sounds like you may just not have caught poor Wheezy quite early enough. Hope my suggestion that it might be berries didn't delay things to his detriment.
