Please help. We are brand new at incubating and we actually have chirping! We have an egg chirping and I’m certain it has pipped because I can see tiny pieces of shell in the bottom of tray. We didn’t not remove the turner as we didn’t realize it was so close to hatch time. We have not added water either. Should we attempt to remove turner and add a bit of water now?? We heard chirping this morning but was less than yesterday. We have a magic fly incubator. Don’t want this little guy to not make it because of our lack of education! Update: It’s been 38 hrs since we heard the first peeps. We did take it out of tray and added a bit of water. We made the changes in under a minute. So now it is sealed up & haven’t bothered it since. It progressed to the first pic just a few hours after we did so. The second pic is tonight. We took all of these through the incubator. I have a little boy who will be crushed if this little chick doesn’t make it.(and myself!

I would remove the turner and add some water, as quickly as you can without breaking any eggs. Chicks can have their feet/legs broken by the turner.
I managed to remove the tray added about 1/4-1/2 inch of water on bottom and get all eggs added back in under a minute. There was a small hole that I could see little feathers and pink skin through but it was quiet. Hope I wasn’t too late

I LOVE that part!!
It'll be fine......no sit on your hands!
I had one pip early in the turner, and egg was stuck to turner cup,
that was fun!
So I already took the turner out and added a bit of water to the bottom. (Before getting this reply) The chick is still chirping. How long does this process take? I’m a nervous wreck!

It can take anywhere from an hour to three hours. Maybe more. Just sit. DO NOT OPEN THE INCUBATOR.
The humidity will go low and that can make the membranes dry, trapping the chick inside. It's called shrink wrapping.
When the chick hatches, wait for it to dry off. This can take a while.
Expect high humidity right after chick hatches, as they are wet.
I'd start warming up the brooder.
When the chick is dry, check to make sure there are no more chicks in the process of hatching, you don't want shrink wrapping.

If no one is hatching, you can take them out.

Be patient and enjoy it. Good luck! Keep us updated. ;)

From pip to hatch can take up to 24 hours.
It IS nerve racking especially the first time.
Here's some good reading while you wait.
ETA...Not sure why links didn't post but here they are(I hope).

Mine always take almost 2 days from pip to hatch. It looks fine! Don't touch it, as @aart said, sit on your hands :)
