I'm glad it worked for you, OreoPlymouthRock. :)

I see everyone has different points of view here......

Oreo, don't let what everyone here is saying scare you. We haven't had any Bronchitis problems since it happened.

And, as a side note, people who are posting about internet etiquette should also follow internet etiquette.

May I inquire how you know you had a case of Bronchitis when it happened? Did you take the bird to a vet for that diagnosis? Probably not because no competent licensed vet will tell you infectious bronchitis is curable much less that it is curable with ACV. So please get real.

I am aware of the etiquette I stated and I set out to make a direct, specific, well aimed point with my use of all caps because were this thread being held as a conversation, yelling or raising ones voice would seem to be the only way to get simple points across.

It is obvious that neither of you of seen what these respiratory illnesses can do to a flock nor how rapidly they can spread through the flock and either killing the birds or resulting in the birds having to be put down. When it comes to infectious diseases and especially those of the airborne variety and those affecting the respiratory and circulatory systems, hard decisions must be faced and made.

There are some members who view their birds as livestock, some view them as "only a chicken" and others of us, many of us see them as pets. We all have differing opinions which is fine. However, only a fool pleads ignorance and seeks help and then throws it back in the face of someone experienced advising them. It pays to actually take heed, research and listen to those who have been around the block a few times and seen what others have gone through.

We try to help but when someone comes pleading for help only be completely rude and throw good solid advice from experience in their faces, it gets annoying quickly. Had young grasshopper take a split second to think to self "Hey, this lady has been here 5+ years and has over 60,000 posts...maybe she knows what she is talking about" rather than turn into insta-toerag some of us would have kept our kids gloves on with the poster. It pays to take heed, research, ask questions and be polite when you come pleading for help.

On a personal note, Speckledhen is one of the finest women I know and I have been fortunate enough to learn from her wisdom and her past experiences with her own birds. I never sit back and allow anyone to attack her like that, she does not deserve it because she spends her time here on BYC helping others and sharing her knowledge. So, for future reference...if you bark at, attack or flame her...you will get a very direct and sometimes even nasty reply from me. That is just the way I am. I value my friend and know her heart is always in the right place. She is 100 times nicer than I could ever hope to be.

Now you and young grasshopper have a nice day and good luck with your "bronchitis" cures.
