HELP! broody died eggs are dying

You people are all nuts. Can you stop with information overload.Kid is doing his best .He doesn't need a million opinions to get these eggs to hatch.candle the eggs pick up the eggs, wipe of the eggs ,spray the eggs ,put powder on the eggs. This is ridiculous eggs won't have chance of hatching if handle that much.Simple put lamp about 18inches above eggs and leave them alone. If they hatch they hatch. If you listen to all the crazy advice being given I guarantee they won't hatch.

I quite like the advice but i agree on the handling part. Ive only handled them from their next box to another and when that was mite ridden, handled them to another box. Quick and easy! Tapping is okay. Im just waiting now! Supposed to go out today but im staying in, in case a chick pops out.

Another thing if hen was sitting on eggs they won't all be in day21 .She can only pay 1 egg a day and even if she is collecting other hens eggs it will take few days to get 10 eggs so odds are eggs are between day 17 and day 20.So don't expect to all hatch at same time or any to even hatch for a day or 2.

Yes i know. My previous ones hatched on about 2-3 days. One of my hens stayed put until all her 8 eggs hatched. Which was amazing.

I know!

I have heard a peep yesterday and even today! When i was tapping on the eggs. So i will wait and see if one would like to hatch by tonight. And wait a few more days for the rest. After candleing them, most are viable. Although bit hard to tell.
Stop handling eggs.Tapping on them listening for peeps, candling them none of that makes a difference. The best thing you can do is leave them alone.

If it were me, I would remove the eggs, clean all the mites off the eggs, clean absolutely everything from the where the eggs are sitting and make certain there are zero mites. using tape works or if it's in a container...wash the container in hot water.

Then I would put the mite-free eggs back under the light. Being away from the heat for a little while shouldn't hurt the eggs.

If those are red mites, they can live off of the bird for a long time. If they're Northern Fowl mites the will die much sooner, but they will still live for a while. You don't want to risk getting them in your house or spreading them around.

I assume they are normal bird mites. They are small and black. Very hard to kill.
The lamp got wet wiped and everything else was thrown away in a black bag.

The towels went for a wash too.

When chicks get ready to hatch they wiggle and giggle inside egg to maneuver themselves and egg into best position to hatch. When you pick the egg and put it back down it may put chick in position where it's harder to hatch or fluid in egg moves and causes chick to drown before it can hatch.I can't emphasize how important it is to leave eggs alone when it gets close to hatching time

The mites thing sucks but it is what it is.Mites won't kill chick in a day.If you wait 24 hours after they hatch then treat them for mites they will be fine. When they first hatch chicks are exhausted and weak they don't need to rolling around in more powder breathing it getting it in there eyes.Let them rest and build up strength for 24hrs.Then you can put powder, spray them or use whatever mite treatment you have available to kill mites.
