Help- Bump on Chickens face

@Kiki

No a vet is not an option.
Well, yes we let one of our broody hen hatch some chicks last month but, I don't think that they are the cause.
And this is the fist time. I've never had this in my flock. Never seen anything close to this before.
Thank you for this information.
When did you notice the swelling?
How long has it been swollen?

Thank you for the help!

I just noticed yesterday. I don't think that it has been there for very long I go down to the chicken coop everyday for a long time and yesterday was the first time I've seen it.
Hopefully she just got packed in the face and the swelling is gone in a day or two.
I would pay close attention to see if it's getting larger each day or not.

You either:
A. Do nothing and hope it gets better on its own.
B. Catch her, feel it and make sure there's nothing stuck in her eye or mouth.

Yes, sadly a vet is not available.
We separated her from the rest of the flock just in case anything spreads as well.
I am going to say I do not agree with separating her.
If she is sick your other birds have already been exposed to it.
Stressing birds out makes illness worse.
Separating her will make her more stressed.

The only reason you would need to separate her is if the other birds were beating her up.

Yes, I did B. Oh really? So I should put her back with the others? There is nothing in her eyes or mouth. I will continue to monitor it hourly. Thank you for the help.

For this swelling of the eye no I would not separate her.
If she had a prolapsed vent then yes I would separate her. Remember each situation is different but this bird does not look deathly ill so no separating would probably not be the best idea.

If it's easier for you to keep her separated then sure go ahead and keep her separated I just don't see the point myself.
