Help! Chick did not pip but were shrink wrapped?

after reading all night I realize my chicks were malformed, but they never did pip. So my question is..... how do I know when to intervene?

Intervention is a fine line. Honestly, it takes much practice and experience to know whether to intervene or not. Going in too soon can be as disastrous as waiting too long.

The dark green eggs that you incubated further complicate the problem. I would suggest getting some local white eggs, or very lightly colored eggs. It makes candling so much easier and would give you a better feel for what to expect, and what to look for.

Spotting a malpositioned chick before it pips would be extremely rare without much experience in candling.
