Help! Chick scratching themselves till they bleed!

Hello everyone!

I’ve got something going on that I’ve never seen before and is very concerning.

Last week I got a few chicks shipped in from papas poultry, all seemed healthy at arrival.

However by night there was one that kept trying to scratch its face like crazy, I inspected it and saw nothing that would be bothersome to it.

This chick kept doing it, and now another chick has started doing it too! These two are now inflicting wounds on themselves from scratching so much!

What could be causing this and what can I do to help?

Did you contact papas poultry? And have you put anything on them? Do you have Veterycin spray? That can safely be spray around the face an eyes.

Benadryl lotion may help too. I’ll look an see if its safe to use. Do you have any Silvadene? I can’t find anything on use Benadryl lotion. Can you post oicturs of their faces. And is this the only place they are itching? @Eggcessive any ideas?

Yes I do have vetericyn spray that I can use, and no I have not contacted them yet.

You could also treat with a q tip spray the end real good then put on their faces.
