Help! Chick with growth

Any update? We have the same thing going on with our 5 week old Easter egger. Curious if surgery worked or if she is still doing fine?

Any update? We have the same thing going on with our 5 week old Easter egger. Curious if surgery worked or if she is still doing fine?

We ended up having surgery. Sadly they had to break some bones in order to do the surgery. It’s worked. Being candid…it cost us $2000. I don’t know if I would’ve done that again but once we got started it just kept progressing. It took a few procedures total. I’d first find out if that’s indeed what your bird has bc my initial thought on what she had was incorrect. I wish you the very best It’s so hard when you love your pets/flock!

One additional thought…she didn’t have a growth. She had a very small lower beak that was not growing and her top beak was appropriately growing. What I thought was a growth was her tongue falling into a pocket her body had naturally created in her throat. Hope this makes sense. Happy to answer any questions you have.

Wow that’s amazing, I hope she continues to progress. I would love to see pictures of how she is now if you would feel comfortable doing that and she’s up for it. I’m happy this worked for her, I know it was a tough place for you to be in.

Just curious how Joy is doing. My chick who had the same issue passed away at 6 weeks of age. Was wondering if the surgery was a success or not.
