Me too!I sure hope it’s ok
She is doing better today, she is walking around a little but like to just lay down by the water. Her crop feels like there is air and liquid in there. I massaged it a little yesterday and also this morning. She has not had access or was exposed to machinery liquid or toxic fluids. Also her breath does not have a smell to it, I checked yesterday and today (thinking she had sour crop)Your hen is very sick, but her comb wouldn't be such a nice color of red if she were having trouble breathing. Judging from the way her neck is stretched up, she is either having a serious crop issue or she's suffering from a toxic reaction to a poison.
Can she stand and walk? If she gets up, does she have trouble balancing?
Has she had any exposure to machinery leaking fluids onto the soil? How about any insecticide? Paint thinner, WD40?
If it's her crop causing this, and a crop illness can make a chicken sound wheezy, you need to feel her crop and smell her breath. Does is stink like sauerkraut? Is her crop full and squishy or full and hard and lumpy?
This morning when I checked on her, her crop still feels inflated and feels like there is liquid and air with a little bit of food left. Do you think I should continue to massage it?I wonder if she has a respiratory infection such as ILT, or others? Can you see a vet? Check her crop to see if it is large and hard, or puffy like a balloon. The crop should feel empty and flat early in morning before she has eaten or drunk?
ILT causes severe gasping and arching the neck or “pump handle respirations.” Gapeworm can look like that as well, but it should not cause sneezing. CN she eat or drink water?
