HELP. Chicken in distress!

The only thing she has eatin all day are about 20 pellets and a few prices of bread that I had to force feed her. Same with drinking. Do u think she is just giving up?

The photos you posted are unfortunately very typical of a bird with Marek's. I'm afraid there are no hard and fast rules with Marek's disease..... she may get better as suddenly as she lost control in a few days, or she may deteriorate and die or she may take weeks or months to make a slow recovery. If she does recover, she will most likely suffer another attack at some point in the future but that maybe months or even a year away.

I'm quite shocked that you seem to resent spending A WHOLE 45 MINUTES trying to help make your sick bird more comfortable, especially when we are spending our valuable time trying to give you advice to help her.... I'm afraid that suggests to me that you are not prepared to put the work in to give her the supportive care she needs and you (and she) might be better off putting her out of her misery now. I'm sorry if that sounds harsh but you have made a couple of comments that suggest you are not really committed to the care of this bird. It will take more time and effort on your part, if she is to recover so be prepared for that.

The sling is to support her in an upright position. You appear to have made the leg holes too far apart so that she is tipped over to one side. It is something that you do have to fiddle about with quite a bit until you get it right, so yes it will take time.
Once you have her supported in an upright position in the sling, then she should be able to feed herself if you secure pots of food and water within reach of her beak. The concern you had about her lying in the carrier was that she would be unable to reach the water, which was why the sling was suggested.

I see that you have made adjustments whilst I was typing my last post and that sling looks MUCH better now and she looks so much more comfortable..... WELL DONE! Is she eating without assistance?

No, she is not. And u really need to stop making me look like a complete dick to animals. I have spent countless hours multiple times on this bird eve. Aw was a chick. I take VERY good care of my chickens, the reason I said did I waste 45 minutes, is that I had a meeting I had to get to immediatly!! And I was late because I built the slim wrong, that's why I was pissed. I can't exaggerate how much I appreciate talks information, but please don't make me out to be a band person, I have slept in the pen with them one night because a fox kept eating more each night, I slept in a tent for them, and when the fox came I put a pound of lead in its face. I Inconvieniounce my self every day for these bird, so. Slices me, I LOVE these birds, but I also like keeping my job. Sorry if it sounds harsh but that's how it sounded to me when u posted the previous comment

I'm sorry if you found my previous post hurtful. It just seemed like you resented spending 45 minutes on the project and I wanted you to realise that she may need a lot more time putting into her and even then, she may still die I'm afraid, especially if she is not eating. That really is not a good sign. Marek's is a horrible disease and I know because I have been caring for birds like this for the past 3 years.

Feeling your distress and anguish. "What If" will always be there to give you angst. What if it is Mareks, even though leg not paralyzed. You don't have chance of recovery and ultimately you efforts wasted will be realized by the inevitable truth. But, what if its just a recoverable fall or blow injury to the left hip that is keeping her from bearing weight on that side?
Then you can only hope to eliminate these questions 1 by 1 getting information with which to do it. All possible causes have some questions the answers to which can eliminate or promote the likelihood of possibilities...

Photos of eyes. Bottom of feet. Anything you do like gentle press up pull down or squeeze eliciting a negative reaction. Hotness in a particular area. Is she popping. Vent check for obstruction etcetera.
