Help!! Chicken with sprained or broken neck!! Help!!!

Yay! I am sooo happy to see Brownie eating his feed on his own and moving his head, legs, and wings! Great work on your part! I did notice there is no water within his reach. Can you think of a way to set up water where he can reach it from his sling without getting the sling towel wet? I can’t wait to see Brownie continue to improve.

That is good to hear. Place food and (especially) water close to him at all times, so he can drink and eat when he wants to. There are some good photos by Ggoogling chicken slings, where small cups are attached right in front of them in dog crates and framed in slings.

Brownie is doing great!! He can drink out of a cup, and eat out of your hand!! His leg still cannot hold his body-weight, so he cannot stand or walk. He does not seem in any pain, and he has got his spunk back!! Yay!! It is not paralyzed, because yesterday he clawed me with his hurt leg. HARD. I may or may not have a scab. Ok, I DO have a scab. He is trying SO HARD to get better.

I am glad that he is getting stronger, but sad that he cannot stand or walk. Is he still using a chicken sling? I would see if he will try to get to food and water on his own, hopefully stimulating him to move, although he needs to be helped if he cannot. He might need his toenail points clipped, but be careful not to make them bleed. Give him a hug for me.
