Help! Chickens died four weeks apart.

I had two 1 year old chickens die about four weeks apart. Neither of them had visible symptoms before they died. I found both of them curled up. No evidence of egg-bound or mites. They both had laid eggs a day or two before they died. Any ideas if the deaths are related or what might cause it? Thanks!
 
There is no way to know without a necropsy. There are many things that are possible and it would just be guessing, it could be viral, bacterial, genetics, etc. If you lose another, then the only way to know the cause is by necropsy. You can send the body for a professional one (some states it's not very expensive) or you can learn to do an informal one at home to look for obvious abnormalities.
