I bandaged him and he ate and drank more. He doesn't seem to mind the bandage, and I think he's asleep now. Thank you everyone for all your help! I'll update tomorrow.

Clean it, you don't want it to get infected. Then splint with popsicle sticks or something like that.
You need narrowleaf plantain for the best results. It can help with inflammation, bacteria growth, and pain.Here is what I would have done when you don't have any of that stuff on hand. Chew up some Plantain leaves making a sort of paste out of it with your saliva put a glob of that on the gash just wrap it around with son tape or a cloth if you watched the movie( Galdeator ) that African dude chewed up Plantain and packed Russel crows deep wound . Plantain grows on most every continent and is easy to locate. I tried it , it works wonders .

If the bone is not broke it should work fine . My opinion .Plantain is for minor wounds.
