I connected the battery to the auto door, door only opens half way
Now I taken out the solar panel..uhhhhhh..well, where the heck do I put the little end prongs to? Since the little clips are in use by being connected to the auto door?...

Another words, I don't get it? On my battery it just has two little metal things..and those things are connected to the wire that comes from the auto door?

Help?

I feel like such an idiot, but don't see where on this battery to connect the solar panel two little prongs

Thank u

And yes, the battery says rechargeable on it 12 volt, and the solar panel I got says 12 v too

Iam so frustrated..iam hoping nothing is wrong with this auto door? Open only half way is not helping me..and I don't have electricitynin my coop

I'd get the issue with the door only opening half way resolved first.

Second...how many watts is the solar panel? Did it come with the kit?

Well, I thought the reason maybe the door is only half way open if even that is not enough juice coming from the battery

Since it's a rechargeable battery and yes, it was brand new but ya never know right if it's sold fully charged

And the solar panel is a 12 volt
And the battery is 12 volt, 8 amp

So I thought if I could connect the solar panel to the battery it would then charge it up etc

Thank u

You need to fabricate an extra set of connections. You could use wire nuts or crimp connectors but you need to wire both the panel and the chicken door to the same set of terminals on the battery.

Okay so I ayayyaaa..okay I get what u say..but how..lol
Where would I put the nut bolte then?

Sorry for my ignorance

Not sure exactly what type of battery you have, but if you end up finding it was in a discharged state when you bought it, you should return it for a replacement. A battery stored in a discharged state will generally become damaged.

I understand your battery and solar panel are both 12 volt...

1)Do you know the watt output of your solar panel?
2)Did the solar panel come with the kit?
3)There should be two wires coming from the solar panel...hopefully one of them is labeled with a +... I don't recall if solar panel wires have a standardized color schemes. Your battery will be red for + and black for -.

Once you figure out whether your solar panel is a small enough wattage to connect directly to the battery, you need to connect the + solar panel wire to the + (red) battery terminal...And keep the positive wire of the door opener on the + battery terminal too. Same idea for the negative wires and battery terminal (black).

This should all be in your automatic door opener instructions...if not, shame on them...

Take the battery to your hardware store and tell them you need to attach two wires to each terminal. They should be able to help you out.

Wannabchick, I'm sorry I don't know anything about solar panel or auto door. I hope you solve that problem a.s.a.p. Good luck hon.
