HELP!! Coyotes everywhere!!

We had one in the yard last week during the day eye balling our wild turkeys. By the time husband could find the key to the gun safe and the right gun it was gone. I heard them last night about 5 or more and the hair stood up on the back of my neck. We hate them. Hopefully we can get a shot at them next time. Also, the compost bin was destroyed the other day - Bear did that! Neighbor got 3 coons this week! Seems we have a bit of everything.

Good luck getting rid of them!

You can buy {color=blue} wolf urine {/color} online. Dont ask me where. And applying this to your property is 'supposed' to 'repel' coyotes.

Thank you all for all of the suggestions. I will definatly kill the little devils if I could ever get ever get a clear shot off. Is there such thing as a "coyote call"?

yes they make coyote callers and sell them online and at any major hunting store ( ie. Big bass pro shop )

Agree with you 100% and made that very suggestion to my husband. We keep a loaded shot gun at the front door and .22 pistol in night stand. But my husband said we would have to be really close for the shotgun and .22 pistol might work but rifle would be better and that's what is locked up. I'll suggest it again.

Also, need to go down the canyon and do some target practice.

I should have said fence your property and add dogs.

I have a four foot, 2x4 inch square wrapped - no climb fence and four dogs - 2 mastiffs, 1 border collie and 1 blind one eyed blue heeler. My chickens, geese and ducks free range from 7am to 8 pm on 11 acres deep, deep in coyote territory.

Coyotes will walk down the fence line and my dogs "encourage" them to move on. The one time one was not encouraged to move, I came out of the house and ran towards the fence - a 5'2" crazy woman and 4 barking dogs was more than it could take.

At night, my geese and ducks are in a 5 foot fenced fowl area and the chickens are cooped.
