HELP!! Coyotes everywhere!!

A crow call or a CD of crows will bring in everything including the coyotes. You'd need to check with your local laws about using this method & only shoot the coyotes.

If I got upset everytime I saw a coyote, I'd be in a constant dither. We have LOTS of coyotes. We have ZERO losses to them. Why? Because our dogs keep them away.

A guy told me these are the very best dogs for protecting your flock. He said get a puppy and raise it with your chickens and it will bond with your chicken and when he grows up coyotes wont want to tangle with a big Great Pyranese. Coyotes are dogs and dogs hesitate to come into a bigger dogs turf.

We have fences and a German Shepherd Dog. The neighbors have coyotes. We don't.

It's that, or shoot them, or both, I'm afraid.

I knew we had coyotes around us but never knew that the were right on our property. One night I came home to 7 dead chickens...I never got to shoot any coyotes but once they knew I was looking for them they stayed away.

Coyotes are smart.

I've got a dog that stays outside 24/7. She is a boxer mix and about 35lbs. She only has 3 legs so I don't think that she could actually catch up to a coyote. She will bark if anything comes onto the property but here lately her barking has not seemed to scare them off.

If the Coyotes are running in groups be careful. They WILL attack a person, large or small, if they are in a pack and hungry enough. I have a couple friends who've experienced this first hand. First one was fortunate he took his .357 to investigate what his dog was raising heck about. Shot one in mid leap. At his throat. Not normal behavior for a coyote but certainly not unheard of.
Second guy was close to his vehicle and jumped inside. Still had to clean out his pants though.
