Help Create a Duck Breed Chart - spreadsheet gurus please stop in :D

I scanned some of the posts on here and would like to contribute...all my ducks are young but I have been keeping a duck journal of sorts. I have aHUIGE assortment of ducks, and 3 mutt ducklings (newly hatched, yay!) Let me know what info you need, I can't seem to open the spreadsheet thingy, and I am NOT computer friendly. I am lucky the pc doesnt rebel and decide not to let the keyboard work any longer.

These are the breeds/ages I have

rouen drake
blue swedish
black runners
fawna nd white runner
pekin
cayuga
mallard, snowy, regular, crested
buff drakes , crested & regular
black swedish
magpie
khaki campbell

& ancona duck eggs hatching next weekend.

Please let me know which info for which breeds and I will offer what I can!

PM me your email address for editing capability. They you can add anything you think is missing from the chart.

GREAT additions! There are still some holes we need to fill. Anyone else care to add to our knowledge base? Also, if anyone has photos they are willing to let me include, please post them in this thread (along with details about your photo) and I will take it from there.

3rd pic is the pair.

Under call ducks, it says easily startled. My call ducks are not easily startled at all.

As soon as the secret lair of my digi cam is discovered, there will be pics of my ducks too....if I can get them separated away from each other one at a time for a minute or two.

I have a quick question for you duck folks...how do you separate bonded pairs that are not breed-true?

I have a VERY bonded couple pairs of ducks...a cayuga hen and fawn &white runner drake who are IN LOVE and call for each other constantly when separated...also a black runner drake /pekin hen, a blue swedish hen and trio of rouen drake, pekin hen and blue swedish hen that act the same.

Do ducks get heartbreak the way parrots, geese, and other true-partner pairs do?

If you look on the american livestock breeds conservancy they have a TON of great info about the duck breeds, too.

I have a behavior question though.

I was in the middle of building breeding pens when I began noticing that my ducks are pairing themselves off...in rather odd combinations. They won't die of love sickness or anything when I separate them into their same-breed pairs, will they? I have heard of geese going through this, and parrot species as well...but are ducks laid back enough to just let em cry it out and go?

Barnwife, I have no clue. Since JJ just died I am worried about Bungie since they stuck together like glue. Seems to be OK so far, but I know he misses his bestest buddy.

We forgot to add Saxony ducks. I just googled them and boy are they cute. Does anyone here have them?
