Help??? Crops full of pine shavings???

I can't tell what they are full of, but have pine chips as bedding. I just picked up one of my brahma chicks that will be 2 weeks tomorrow to take pictures for my green chick question. She was very skinny? At first I thought maybe I needed to put a second feeder in,butt have one of those long ones. Then I noticed her crop is full?? Im thinking pine chips? I just don't know? Then I picked up a different one a RIR and she was thin too ? They are same age, what can I do to help. Oh RIR crop was not over full? Im putting clean food in now to see if they eat.

Chicks crops can go up and down throughout the day.
Is she eating her chick starter, drinking and pooping ok?
Any distress peeping?

If you suspect she ate bedding (chicks will do this sometimes) provide them with some free choice chick grit, usually that will help move things along. Provide plenty of fresh water.

How many in the brooder? You're questioning whether they need another feeder makes me think they might need another feed station, just a thought.

Thanks, shes fine I was over reacting. There are 10 chicks and 2 duckling in large stock tank. The ducks are in there because they were singletons, however as soon as I get duck run set up, they will go there. They've figured out together they are ducks, and they are destroying the bedding with water, and trying to swim in waterer,so everything is wet! And ducks stink!!

Glad to hear she is ok

You may want to visit the duck forums if you haven't and see if anyone has advice on keeping chicks and ducklings together.

Wet bedding will smell and in warm weather I would worry also about mold/bacterial growth in wet bedding as well. They may have suggestions of how to set up your grow out pen so you don't encounter any problems down the road.

Just my thoughts --I don't know anything about ducks or I would make suggestions.

I know about ducks, not chickens. But perhaps @Miss Lydia or @Eggcessive may be able to help. Can you share symptoms?
