I helped it fully hatch this morning with a long, patient period of a warm wet Q-tip and swabbing it to get it softer. It was very tough and dried. After a long time we got it out of the shell. Very lethargic and no longer chirping, but breathing. After a couple hours it started moving around some so I sponge bathed it to get the hard goo off. No it is trying to get up and chirping, although it stays mostly on it's side when not wiggling. ! It has a foot that stays bent mostly and curled up toes. Any pointers for that? I think that is making it harder for it to get up. I've read about splinting it with tape but don't want to hurt it as it's so young and weak still. Should I do this now to help it balance, or later once it has more energy. I gave it a drop of water with agave nectar to see if I could help with energy and because after the giant poop it had this morning, it's got to be dehydrated.
Any tips! I'm so excited that it has made it so far. Plus it's white and I was hoping for a white one!

I have not experience with this, but have been told you want to splint the leg as soon as possible. something about the leg bones, etc. being more pliable. Wish I new more. Hopefully someone else will speak up. Good Luck!
