Please help! I have 4 duck eggs. One of them externally pipped and took 48 hours to start making progress. Shortly after this, the duck died, so I think I should have intervened earlier.

Right now, only one of the three has externally pipped. He pipped about 18 hours ago, but hasn’t made progress since. I chipped away at the pieces around the pip, and it doesn’t seem like he has actually pierced the membrane. What should I do?

The other two eggs have movement when candles, and the cast a bit of a shadow, but it looks as if they are only pressing up against the membrane inside and not actually internally pipped. Do I still make a safety hole? I’m really worried. This is the first time I’ve ever hatched my own eggs.

these are the two eggs I’m not positive about. The first picture I think might have pipped, but the second is definitely pushing against the membrane on the inside. What do I do?

Also, I was able to pick away more at the first egg around the air sac where the membrane was not attached to the outer shell. I chipped enough of the shell off to moisten it with coconut oil. From there, I used a light to see where the veins were running in the membrane, and might a SLIGHT little hole in the membrane where there were obviously no veins.
