BUBBLES!!Definitely a cockerel.
Looks like a young cockerel to me.I am a new chicken mama this spring. I have 3 easter eggers and 3 Rhode Island Reds. One of the RIR my husband and I think might be a rooster. He/she has a big dark tail but a small comb. How do I know for sure its a male or not?. We thought we heard him/her crow but not sure, as they are only 12 weeks old. Please help!, we wanted the chickens for the eggs, not really more babies!. Isnt there a claw or something on the back of the foot the males have? Thanks in advance!.
I've seen hens with combs so large they can't stand up, if that's what you're keying on.Definitely a cockerel.
BUBBLES!!
Birth control?yeah I thought so too. So how do I prevent baby chicks?. How do I keep them seperate?
We go waaay back.
Hey whitesBUBBLES!!
Yeah, but if you've ever seen a hen with a comb so large it can't stand up, pointy hackles/saddles, and the leggy look of a cockerel just coming into its own, I'll pay you in gold.I've seen hens with combs so large they can't stand up, if that's what you're keying on.
Just don't let the hens go broody and you're fine.yeah I thought so too. So how do I prevent baby chicks?. How do I keep them seperate?
