Polish are definitely more prone to head injuries due to their vaulted skull
Sounds like my polish Carl that died. He was often falling asleep in weird positions. He was one of the sweetest chickens I have ever owned. He loved people. I believe he was pecked on the head. He started walking in circles and acting strange. He perked up and was as normal as Carl has ever been and died one afternoon. I have no idea what was wrong with him. I think there was something going on with the majority of that breeders' stock. They seemed too inter-bred. They all failed to thrive. Even after treating for worms with piperzine, mites, lice and what not with sevin and plenty of electrolytes in the water.. They just did not pull through. Out of 4 from that breeder, I have none left. Only one died of a cause known (internal laying).
