Hmmm? To be honest..The less a person does is actually better the first couple of days. Stress and trauma causes Birds to die more than the actual injury. A safe clean shelter and give them time alone.. clean them up and basically wait ..If a Vet isn't an option then that's the best way of handling it.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this. It's been my experience that it you give an injured bird 24 hours to stabilize then handling them, cleaning wounds, and tube feeding is very unlikely to cause further harm and might just save them. They were left alone, then cleaned up, now it's time to take it to the next lexel, which, IMO, is tubing fluids or taking them to a vet.

I understand how scary tubing feeding sounds to those that haven't done it, but trust me, once you learn you will kick yourself for not learning sooner.

I might be able to. I have chick feed, would that work?

Also Carmella took her first 2mL dose (10mg) of antibiotics orally. She only spilled about 10% of it, the rest she swallowed.
Chick feed for tube feeding can work it you grind it up really well.

Really because you think it's the right thing to do..I say provide feed and water and wait..

I would rather do everything I can than wait. Either way if they don't make it, I'm going to be kicking myself for something. I'd rather be kicking myself for trying to help too much rather than not enough.
