Interesting. We're in the St. Johns part of Portland (north) and have raccoons but are too far from water to get mink. I've seen them on the docks down in Lakeside, though. For awhile there was one who'd come down on the fishing dock and wait until someone caught a small perch or bluegill...then she'd prance forward and kind of bounce around. If you threw her the fish, she'd grab it and go under the dock. She was even in the paper, with a picture of her taking a fish from a fisherman. We found out later that she took them under the dock and stashed them for when she had a litter. Also found out that it got to stinking so much (cached fish in the summer!) they had to send a diver underneath the dock to clean it out. Ew! But she sure was a cute little thing!
I am over a half mile from a river and I get mink..

My wife would really enjoy a fur lining for her moccasins. And I quite enjoy leatherwork. Never tanned a hide before, but I can learn! Not sure if I can do the deed though. I love animals. But I'm also pretty sure I love my ducks more than a nasty murdering blood sucker.

I'd have a hard time too. I also love animals, and weasels/minks are soooo cute. They're like wild ferrets. Little living tube socks. Love em. I don't know what I'd do if I had one killing my pets though. I still probably couldn't kill it. I'd have to live trap or electric fence. Nothing against those who'd just kill it though. I just don't have the heart for it. Poor thing is just trying to live it's life too. It would be hard being a wild animal having to catch food or starve all the time.

The ducks were able to eat a small amount of their regular food pellets floating in water. They each had around 5 pellets. It's progress!

YAY!! She's gonna make it. I just know it :ya

Carmella is now drinking normal amounts of water all by herself! So proud of her! Gregory just had his 75mL of food for the night. About to give Carmella her 60mL. No poop update yet. They are all still mostly watery with some dark green chunks. Energy is up, Carmella is holding her head straighter up now, but I can tell it is still difficult for her.

They just pooped for me!!

Have you cleaned all of the wounds with something like betadine or chlorhexidine and saline? Have you inspected their entire bodies for wounds? Can you weigh them?

is a vet an option?

Listen very closely to what casportpony has to say. Helped me with my roo when he was attacked. My roo was not eating or drinking after the attack. Caportpony gave me good advice & instruction.
