Beautiful eggs wowThey look like EE pullets to me. Better pictures would be a good idea though. They should lay colored eggs. That's one of the reasons I love EEs! Here's the eggs my flock lay. A good chunk of my flock are Easter eggers and olive eggers.View attachment 1770629
Well that's good new becouse I have a old large rooster who prefers to be the king around here lol...They were probably sold as 'Americanas', but they are Easter Eggers, and very luckily all appear to be pullets.
"Americana" is not a breed, it is a purposeful misspelling of the recognized breed "Ameraucana" to market Easter Eggers. Ameraucana are recognized, meaning they have a breed standard to which the birds conform, have specific varieties (colors), etc.....Easter Eggers have no standard, do not "breed true", have a variety of comb types, leg colors, plumage patterns, facial feathering, etc and can by created by crossing blue laying breeds over non blue laying breeds or breeding EE to EEWell that's good new becouse I have a old large rooster who prefers to be the king around here lol...
What's the difference between the 2 breeds so I know and why would tractor supply company not call them the correct breed? Odd?
