From what I've read, you don't want that to rupture or the chick will die, so it's recommended to put the chick back in the bottom half of the shell and place in a narrow cup so the chick can't move around, and put it back in the incubator. Someone else more experienced please chime in.

But now I have a new problem! The next chick that hatched has either a prolapse or hasn’t absorbed the yolk yet and this is what her behind looks like! Sorry for graphic photos, but I don’t know what to do!

okay so what you want to do is get some moist warm paper towels and a teacup. Wrap the chick in the paper towel put him in the tea cup and put a paper towel over the cup too leave a little bit of it uncovered though on the top though. I had this happen for me this hatch. Leave him in there for awhile and keep changing the top towel I would say every 30-45 minutes.Then I would say every 60-90 minutes change the towel he’s wrapped in. Keep him in the teacup or mug under your heat lamp. The tea cup acts at the egg with the moist paper towels so it gives him time to absorb the yolk sac as if he was in the egg still.(Photos below.) Mine that had this problem is doing well now.

Yikes, I don’t know if I’m experienced enough to give you strong advice. But all I can give is keep him in a clean area so it doesn’t get infected.

I had my husband put him down last night. He started going down hill & was just sleeping and gasping for air. I gave him all the love I could until it was his time!

I have same problem my first 15 chicks hatch on da 21,22,23.. all healthy .. after that all 5 chick's hatch on day 24 25 26 all unstable and with problems..I put them down too after trying everything to fix them.. You gave all of you to save him that's all that matters
