Help! first time hatching!

I am worried that the black area is the body and that it possibly does so any answer would be great!!! I am patient but this is unbearable!!! It is taking forever!

The dark blob on the right side of the pic is the embryo. The darkness in the bottom is because the light from above doesn't penetrate the stuff in the center.

Look at what I just found shivering in the yard all by itself. Stuck it under my Moderm Game Bantam that has one chick egg that pipped last night.

Haha, ok I just want to be sure if they are still alive and developing! One other question, when the ducklings start to hatch should I close the male off at the top (the nest is under the platform and it is the biggest area. I am thinking about closing off the male at the top so he doesnt kill them after hatching. Is that a good idea to be "Better safe than sorry" situations"?

Found the nest... it's a Muscovy mama, but that is not a Muscovy duckling! Looks like my Peking has been with the wrong group, lol.

Sorry I can't answer that one. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will offer some advice.
