Help! first time hatching!

Check with your vet first. Baytril website would say 5mg per day (0.05ml of the 10% solution), but a vet might have you give 5mg twice a day.

He said with the tissue damage that has been done, baytril isn't going to work. Grrrr

Did he suggest something else instead?

Yes they are still upright in the turner. I know you disagree with it and haven't had luck with it yourself but I decided to give it a try anyway. If it works for the big hatcheries, I still have hope. I work away from home during the day so I am not able to do manual turning. If this doesn't work, I'll design something to hold them in the turner on their sides, but for now, I'm sticking with this.

I was just wondering how your upright position went? Was it a Success?????

Thanks Kathy!

The short story is: I won't say it was a huge success, but I still consider it a success. I have 4 beautiful ducklings, and one awesome turkey! Lost 3 in the final 2 days, but honestly I think the power outage (low temp for so long) caused their issues, and Mother Nature did her part to cull them before I considered intervening. I don't feel like being "upright" in the turner had any effect, but it could have. I wish there was a way to know for sure, but I don't suppose there is.
