Help! first time hatching!

Ok. Maybe I'll leave the last egg for a wee bit longer. There's always a tiny sliver of hope. Thankfully I didn't have any early deaths in my first hatch, otherwise I may not be doing this one!

Is the first one dead? There are two more very similar to it. Is it just a coincidence that they're in the same row?
Is the second one not fertile? There's one more like it and they're on opposite edges.

@wvduckchick, if you post your silkie questions in the silkie thread you may get more immediate and direct responses

Thanks, I'll do that.

It's called the Ring of Death. LOL kind of like a computer, the Blue screen of death. LOL

I see it in the first one but I can't see it in the last one..

I agree, the first looks like a blood ring, second looks clear (was it moving??), and third I can't really make it out, but I'd leave it in for a few more days and try again later.

Just took 2 eggs out of the bator. I took the three dead ones out several days ago. That's a stinker.
I had 21 BO eggs for my neighbor, and 3 silkie for myself. Now there's 17 BO, and 2 silkie. And sadly/madly there's one BO that looks infertile! Argh!
That means that out of 21 BO eggs, 3 died and 3 are/were infertile. Is that caused by the chickens (who laid the eggs) surroundings and diet?
All of my batch that I did for myself were fertile and nothing died till the very end.
Ok at this point I'm just ranting cause I'm aggravated

Infertile, could it be possible that there are to many girls and not enough boys? When you say died at the end, are you talking about lockdown?

Well my neighbor has 2 roosters and 6 hens, all the same age.
By died at the end, I mean they were alive till lockdown, and one died after it had externally pipped. They may of shrink wrapped because of me opening the lid to get the Littles out

Incubating is tricky... I set 21 pea eggs 25 days ago and I'm down to just 4.

OMG Kathy what happened?  Are you having a sticky issue with humidity?

A bunch were not fertile, but I expected that since they came from a pen with a young peacock (usually not fertile until age three). All were stored in too warm a room for too long. I'm not very good about turning them, so sometimes they were turned once a day. As of today, day 26, all eggs have lost 13-14%, so I think my humidity is okay. Got one that pipped internally last night and the other four look like they're about to.
