Hello- I am new to this site. I recently had my bantam chicken hatch 17 eggs. She went under the shed when she was broody and decided to hatch them there. After three hours of finally getting her and her babies in our small coop by themselves we discovered an unhatched egg. Curious I light at the egg with a flashlight to see if there was a chick in there and sure enough there was! I saw some movement and plenty of veins. I don’t have an incubator but read where you can put them on a heating pad on low, with a little bit of moisture on a towel. We found the egg 7/14 and it’s now 7/19, I candle light the egg daily to make sure there is movement and there usually has been a long with veins, but last night and today at lunch I didn’t see much. I still see veins but have never had to hatch a chicken before so I’m a little paranoid and want answers now lol. So I guess the question is should I wait longer and leave the egg alone? Or should I do something different? Also I have attached pictures of the candle lighted egg many thanks in advance!

Well I appreciate everyone for helping but unfortunately the chick was no longer living. I had a friend of mine who incubates eggs look at it and he stated it was watery looking inside and there wasn’t movement anymore

Sorry to hear:hugs
17 is a lot for a bantam. Don't feel too bad, you did what you could. How are the others doing?:jumpy
The others are doing great, he was able to help us identify their gender which is perfect. We have twelve females and five males. They are so darn cute
