what are the differences between an american fowl vs old english fowl. is one meaner than the other one. please help

I've heard that American Gamefowl are an old strain of Old English Gamefowl that has gradually developed characteristics that are different from OEG's because of selective breeding by American fanciers. Not sure about that, but it's what I've heard.
