Good luck with it. I'd post on craigslist immediately for your cost for them. Since you can't send em back. Or cost plus 50 cents a head for what you need to set up the bins(or baby pool or box) and lights.

And then keep trying cackle. Not picking them up just kills them. Cackle either got the cancel order or it didn't.

Best just to get them and keep them alive to recoup losses if you have to.
Call some appliance shops see if you can get a refridgerator box or washer dryer boxes. While not ideal they have no cost.

Print all orders with their confirmation, save all e-mails until the transaction is completed. That means until you A) receive the order or B) receive confirmation of the order's cancelation. Its only common sense!

The hatchery will probably refund your money, since it was their boo-boo. AND probably let you keep all the chicks. Which you can then sell and MAKE some money. Actually probably pay for your first shipment of chicks.... Ya' know you've got to pick those chicks up. Or else you are a chicken abuser. Calm down, take a deep breath (really), and go get the chicks. You KNOW you can scrounge something up for them. In a couple of days, you won't feel so panicked..... Look at it as an opportunity to MAKE a little of your original investment back!

I recently had a couple chicks that were not eating well outside, so I brought them back in, I had no feed and water dishes for them and am on a limited budget so buying new was not an option.

I cut down some butter tubs to use, they worked out well.

You could also make a waterer with a 5 gallon bucket and a plant saucer, I think there is a thread on here some where.

If it helps at all, I have a coupon for $5 on Purina if you buy 2 50# bags, I would be happy to mail it to you to help save on Starter. If you need it just PM me.

Also, I built a brooder yesterday with scrap wood I had lying around.

Hi, I'm sure everything will work out.

Just returned from a visit to their web site. The message of their website is impressive but the layout and ease of navigation seems helter skelter. So I'm not suprised there was a mix up. My eyes are still crossed.
