Great picture!
Looks like snot to me, so my best guess is a bacterial or viral infection. This is what the phlem looks like that I swab out of her mouth... Some is yellow and some clear... any ideas? Am i using the right meds on her?![]()
The canker I have seen here does not look like little pimples.Thank you for the info azygous... My eyes were going buggy reading through all the info again. Do you by any chance know about canker in chickens... Was wondering if there is always a foul smell associated? My chicken has at least 6 tiny yellow spots in her throat... They look almost like pimples... But her breath doesn't stink...
The dose I use to treat canker is 23 mg per pound once or twice a day.Thank you azygous... Any idea on metronidazole dosing... I've been trying to find it but am finding answers anywhere from 60mg to 250mg and still not sure how many times a day. We have metronidazole 250 mg pills. Last night we did give her 1/4 of a pill (62.5mg) .
A small pea-sized amount is only 15-25 mg fenbendazole.Gave her a small pea size amount of safeguard and had planned to follow up 10 days later.
Which Baytril do you have?I do have baytril... What would the dosing be for a banty cochin... She weighs a little less than 2 lbs... I think about 28 ounces?
It can be given orally. It is the 10% injectable... Can we give it orally... She doesn't have much muscle to work with for IM injection.
Good... Was afraid I'd have to give her injection but glad not to. Should I have her on a probiotic? It can be given orally.
The Baytril will kill most good bacteria too, so I wouldn't bother.Good... Was afraid I'd have to give her injection but glad not to. Should I have her on a probiotic?
