Help! Hen still walking backwards to the sides

Have you checked inside her ears to make sure there's no infection or mites?
Look her over for lice/mites on the body too.

See that her crop is emptying overnight.

You can try vitamin therapy to see if that helps with her balance issues as well (you still want to check her over for the other things).
400IU Vitamin E and 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily. Give a little egg as a treat to help with the uptake of E.
Hard to know what's going on with her, but the vitamins won't hurt to try for 7-14 days.

The vitamins to help if there is a deficiency or neurological symptoms is good. I had a Mareks vaccinated hen a couple of years ago who started falling backwards or to her side for a couple of days. Then she had to stay in a basket for almost 5 weeks, and she couldn’t stand long enough other than to move around and change position. Finally she recovered and lived for another year and a half. The only thing I could figure was there was some abdominal infection or brain issue that made her imbalanced. None of us know why these sorts of symptoms happen. Wry neck, Mareks disease, head injuries, and vitamin deficiency or dehydration should be considered.
