Help! Humidity keeps going down.

Does this mean at day 18 I shouldn't add any water to the channels so that the humidity increases?

It shouldn't go up w/o water. It hasn't leveled back out? Humidity goes up with the increase of the surface area of water. If there's no water in it, it should go down. Unless your ambient humidity is extremely high, it doesn't make sense.

I don't understand, it was without waterms for 30 minutes before I went back to see it,and it was turned off too, it seems more confusing than it should, should I wait more longer to see if it decreases, but again I may be putting the eggs at risk right?

When you dump all the water out, it can take hours for the humidity to show a drop.

What is the humidity in your house? Do you live in an area with natural high humidity?

What do you mean it was turned off? No, the eggs aren't at risk because of the humidity. High or low humidty hurts over the period of incubation. It's not like temp where if it goes up it could kill them right then and there. The humidity being high will slow/stop the egg from loosing moisture and running high for days at a time will hinder the growth of the air cell. It being high for a day or two can be averaged out during the rest of the incubation once you get it down. I would give it more time. Are you going by the hygrometer on the machine? It's possible that it is off.

She's saying that it is going up though, not just not dropping.. Ambient humidity or a faulty hygrometer is all I can think.

Unless when you "dumped" the water out a bigger surface area of the bator got wet causing a bigger surface area with moisture...that would may explain it too. I would just wait it out and let it dry. It should come back down w/no water.

That's what I meant... it has happened to me... pretty frustrating until I figured out what was going on ;)
