Help! I hope this lovely is actually a hen!

The one you are worried about looks at first glance like a boy. The other one I believe is a hen. Roosters go through a hormonal phase--almost like teenage days-- where they get aggressive if you hold them. This one looks to be about that age so I would try to leave him alone until he gets older.

You think both my Buffs are cockerels? TS was not correct. Darn it!
TSC is generally pretty good about that, so let them know. Take pictures. They may give you new chicks.
And remember that roosters do not have to lead to chicks. If you are collecting eggs daily (or even every other) there will be no chicks. Fertilized eggs taste absolutely NO different from rooster-less eggs, there is no difference in nutrition and there are no side effects. They're just as good as any other egg!

Congratulations! It's a BOY!
If you're allowed roosters where you are, don't be too quick to send him packing. I'm sure ill-mannered ones are out there, but so far, I haven't met a Buff Orpington fellow that wasn't either calmly cordial or downright social.
In your experience, do your BOs crow very loudly?
