And, honestly, I think it would be nicer if I had just spent that $200 on studs and plywood instead of buying a ton of hardware to try to make pallets work. Lesson learned!

Thank you! I swear I thought I was the only one, yes the pallets were free, but the hardware and 'making it work' just did not live up to my expectations. And, honestly, I think it would be nicer if I had just spent that $200 on studs and plywood instead of buying a ton of hardware to try to make pallets work. ---------------------Thanks for the advice everyone! I borrowed a truck from a girl at work and drove 45 min to pick up that $45 craigslist coop. I am excited to paint it and come up with some cute shingles. I absoluely love it and its way bigger than it looks. Its 3.5 ft x 3ft x 2.75ft. My two girls are going to be more than cozy in there! I'm really happy I made the purchase and now I can concentrate on more fun artsy design rather than the stress of having to figure out how to build it.

I have to do a rebuild anyway, a lovely sink hole has appeared and my coop is being held up by a truck jack. (can we say Redneck?)
I would go for that, it looks perfect for two, just make sure no little paws can reach in.
