Okay so here's round two! I have two hens whose breeds I am unsure of.

First - I bought Clara (blue) as a "Production Blue" from a local (pretty shady, in hindsight) feed/poultry store. She was broody for-literally-ever before she ever started laying, and I was pretty disappointed when I discovered her eggs were not blue! She is now 7 months old and has been laying brown eggs for a few weeks now. So it seems they did not identify her breed properly, does anyone else know what she might be?

Second - I got Polly (white) this past Sunday from a friend who no longer wants to keep chickens. My best guess is she is about 5-6 months old but is not laying yet. Anyone care to take a gander at her breed?

Also it would be super helpful for anyone who can identify them to tell me what they know about the breed! Thank you so much!

I don't know what breeds they are, but I do know what happened with the blue-egg-mixup. It looks like her variety is blue, but that doesn't mean she lays blue eggs. I see why you thought she would lay blue eggs, that sign wasn't very clear. But no use crying over spilled milk! I think they are both very beautiful!

Production Blues lay brown eggs. What type of comb does the white bird have?

I guess the guy at the feed store just had no clue what he was saying then... he told me they were an Easter egger, and when I looked up the breed all the information was unclear. :idunno

Yes I still adore her! The guy who sold her to me just didn't know what he was talking about, and my husband really wanted an easter egger, haha! Oh well!
