Interesting, I wasn’t expecting that curveball. That makes some sense though. Isn’t an olive egger bred from a Maran with a blue egg layer (which can be a CCL)?
Yes exactly. I think my Olive Egger is a CCL/Welsummer mix. She looked a lot more like my Welsummer as a chick but then feathered out more grey like a CCL. Her crest is smaller than my true CCL, but otherwise would be hard to tell them apart without the side-by-side comparison.

That’s awesome. Slowly starting to retain chicken breeds and mixes. There’s a lot going on lol. Is Welsummer a Maran, or is that just another dark brown egg layer?

Thanks for the suggestion. She’s got a white fluffy butt with a red body and head. I assume some mix with a Rhode Island Red or Hampshire Red
This is a pic of my golden sex link at a similar age. But yours could be something else too.

You'll have to update what color egg she lays...I guess it could be brown still though haha. I only know about the Starlight Green Eggers because I was supposed to have one... but she is all white with a big old poofy head 🤪 waiting impatiently for her first egg to maybe get some insight just for my own curiosity.

That’s a pretty chicken and looks very similar. What’s the breed of chicken in the back?
The chicken in the back is an Easter egger. She’s beautiful and lays a small blue egg! This is her now.

Haha, does that mean she’s a Polish chicken? Never considered her to be a green egg layer. I had forgot someone mentioned this breed before. Would be neat to have green eggs.

I want one! Lol
Yes she’s pretty. They were sold as “Ameraucanas” at my local feed store. But pretty sure she’s just an Easter egger. My other friend wanted one like her this year and I tried to pick out a similar chick. I think I got it right! This was her as a chick. She started out almost entirely white and then started to get just a tiny little streak of black in her feathers.
