I have a chicken who isn’t getting the nutrition she needs. She’s a 1 year old buff Orpington hen who weighs a little over 2 1/2 pounds. She’s missing many feathers and has a low energy. I know the first step is to isolate her away from the flock so that she can actually eat, but what do I do next?

How long has she been missing feathers for? If only for a week or so I would guess she's just molting. My birds always act under the weather when they molt

How long have you had her? She looks to be molting, but her saddle area has been really been feather pecked, so that might be the probelm. How are her droppings? I would try offering a variety of things, such as watery chicken feed, scrambled egg bits, tuna, or canned cat food. Worming her might be something you would want to do as well. Valbazen or SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer are very good ones.

She’s been missing feathers for around two months, I’ve had her since the time she was a fuzzy little chick, her droppings are small, brown with a little streak of white. She had mites a while back, but after treatment she doesn’t seem to have them anymore. She is the only one in the flock like this, I’ve noticed the other chickens don’t really let her eat that much or let her drink water either so when I put her in isolation she went crazy over the feed.
