We have a 7 month old Dark Brahma Roo that had an impacted/sour crop. We ended up having to preform surgery to remove the obstructions, which upon doing so, the roo was necrotizing from the inside crop! We cleaned him all up got him sewed up. Started antibiotics, offered water, and started feeding scrambled eggs after 12 hours.
Roo went from tail feathers tucked, hiding to running around the house, tail feathers a poppin'. He's as happy as a clam, pooping, eating and drinking as if nothing has happened.
This morning we woke up (2 days post op) we still have him inside, he had started eating himself? (Got out of his fancy bandage). From what I can tell, his skin is healing well, but now that he ripped his stitches out he looks as if his crop is "dying"? I rebandaged him and lathered him in wound ointment. But now im stumpted. Does any one have any recommendations? Hellppp!!! He's got so much spunk, we are at loss at what is going on and what we should do from here?!
