i’ve been researching everything possible as well.....i’ve had many unexplained deaths/injuries but never anything quite like this.....They’re in a fairly short pen, so definitely possible. From what I’ve read though, those seem to be more of a back of the head injury. But I’ve only had these for about 3 months, and I’m hatching my first set now, so we’ll learn together!
I feel like I’ve scoured the internet for any type of “quail nosebleed” until I’ve drove myself crazy. I just feel so bad for the poor thing!
the best info i found was beak trauma but yours shows no signs of that in the pic. other possibilities would be poisoning/toxicity, UE (which usually is not bleeding from nose/beak), or some type of bleeding disorder. hopefully @007Sean will have some better idea??
