Help me help my friend's goose! Doesn't look well and has a hard time walking

My friends have gotten the geese a kiddie pool and are feeding them fresh vegetables. My hunch is that your suspicion of hardware disease or something similar is probably correct. They have already tried antibiotics and have had the only qualified vet in our town out several times, so I don't think there's much more they can do at this point other than try and improve his quality of life. They said that the geese are afraid of the pool, though, and won't go in it!
Of course anything new is scary hopefully they will eventually warm up to it. maybe your friends can get in it while the water is poop free and show them it's fun. lol
Too bad if it is hardware disease. I go over my property at least 1X a week and find nails screws staples it's amazing what the rain washes up. I bought a magnet on a long handle works great.

Reading about it was terrifying. I am surprised all of my flock don't have it because our garden is filled with bits of metal. I take them out all of the time, but more always come up when it rains. I have caught our goose trying to eat beer pull tabs at least a dozen times. The magnet is a great idea.

I'm sure I'll find more too, the other day I found one of those hair bands to hold a pony tail no telling how long it had been under ground to be washed up. it had been there a while I'd say. but to think someone may have eaten it .It was way stretched out of shape like someone had pulled it that way or maybe just over time. But I doubt anyone could have passed it through.

They sure keep us on our toes don't they?

Did you try oxytetra saved my gooses life 3 days ago he was getting very week and skinny gave him savachick electrolyte with vitamin c and tetra for 5 days now he has a renewed lease on life you could get the goose xray ed costed me 168 in Massachusetts had to find out if he was truly blocked then I went from there most vets just don't know allot about geese

I have a happy update! My friend has been feeding his geese fresh vegetables, vitamin supplements, etc. and giving them water to bathe in. The grey one that I thought had hardware disease is still very jerky in his walking, but is much, much better. They have both gained weight, look clean, and seem happier.
