Well... I did a quick internet search. There are several sites that promote pumpkin seeds as a way to help with intestinal parasites. In humans too. I avoided the sites that are trying to sell me something. Apparently there is supposed to be something in pumpkin seeds that "paralyzes" the parasites so that they can be passed through the intestines. I do no think that my girls have worms... but as a nice little treat that is also a health benefit... then that is a good thing.

Look for a properly documented study from a place like this:

In my first aide kit I have a few basic injectable such as Tynan 50, baytril, la 200. Then I have some water soluble antibiotics such as sulpha and general anti infective like gallimycin, oxytet. I have wormers and vitamins. I have cord for cocci and several sizes of feeding tube with feeding syringes and food for the tube called Exact by Kate. I have replamin, amino acid, sulphadimethoxine, turmeric, crop bound capsules, oxytetracycline, blood stop powder, sutures, crazy glue, preparation H for prolapse, vetericyne , spray for wounds, needles, and sulmet , and prednisone for wry neck.i also have powdered electrolyte. I also keep on hand injectable calcium glutenate for egg binding. I have vitamin E, B,A,and D. I've tried to think ahead and know from my own experiences that any one of these items could be needed at any time and nothing is worse than needing something and not being able to get it when a emergency strikes. If I may make a suggestion to help you start out online at first state vet supply they have a wonderful first aide kit for under 20 dollars and inside you will get wazine, sulphadimethoxine, oxytetracycline, amino acid, turmeric, replimen, vita pro B, amprol, and more with simple instructions on when and how to use each item.this is a EXCELLENT way to start your kit for under 20.dollars. I really hope this helps you out. Do check out the kit online it's well worth the 20 dollars and it could help save a life.best wishes .

Here's a list to give people some god ideas on what to keep on hand:
http://www.shagbarkbantams.com/1staid.htm

Eventually birds will get scaly leg and I've found Nu-Stock and Sulfur ointment to work the best. Some folks claim Vicks Vapor rub works well too. Nitrile gloves come in handy for many things also.

For an all around sanitizer I use Oxine. For bio-security such as a foot bath and cleaning tools, I use Bio-phene.

Insecticides of choice are Ravap EC, Gardstar 20% permethrin, or Permectrin II.

If you use Little Giant 3-5 gallon plastic waterers, its a good idea to buy some extra O rings and caps.

A wide tooth steel comb and a pair of grooming scissors is good to have on hand for keeping butts clean.

Large dog nail clippers, a steel nail file, blood stop powder, a spur saw, and spur holder come in handy too.
