As many of you know I'm working on a Gold Laced Orpington project, and it's time to really nail down my plan for season 2.
I've been a slow study on the genetics but and getting along well now and am ready to start breaking this down.
THIS is Goldiflocks
Updated guess: ER/eWh Pg/pg? Ml/ml+? Co/co S/s.....???
His father is Blue

Updated guess: E/ER Pg/pg Ml/ml+ Bl/bl+ Mo+/mo S/S Important to note he was lacking melanizers or enhancers because rusty leakage showed on his shoulders
His mother is PROBABLY a Buff Orpington Hen
His egg came from a mixed pen there were also black orpingtons, silver & gold laced wyandottes & australorp hens.
Updated guess: eWh/eWh Co/Co Db/Db Di/Di?
Even farther back on his father's side
Paternal Grandfather - Bama Chicken - assumably a mottled orpington, who's mother was also mottled

Paternal Grandmother - Blue Orpington - no photos but presumably your typical blue orpington NOT related to Bama Chicken.
Dawn's best guess: Grandfather - E/E co+/+ db+/db+ mo+/mo+ S/S -- Grandmother: E/E Pg/pg MI/MI+ Bl/bl+ S/S
The Buff hen is from a long line of Buff Orpingtons raised by a US breeder. Likely this gal or her sister http://www.dawnonthefarm.com/bufforpingtonhen.jpg
Goldiflocks has not yet produced any offspring, much to his dismay he hasn't yet met a girl, so there is nothing to draw from in the forward direction.
Thank you.. and now I must find some aspirin/ibuprofen for my aching head and another cup of coffee!
Please be kind, I'm still trying to understand everything on the basic level.. I know just enough now to get myself very confused
(I'm updating this post as discoveries are made to make it easier to comment on the "current thinking")
