I noticed this for the past few days but it's since gotten worse. my 2 and a half month old (red star or production red?) has been having her eyes closed. Today however, she has started acting lethargic. Whenever I go over near her or call her name, she chirps as if to tell me that she's still alive or something? I don't know. I separated her from the other chicks for awhile to see how she would do and she was limping around. It's truly a very saddening sight to see and i want to know if there's anything i can do to help her. her droppings are about normal, just a tad bit runny, and i've made sure she's been eating and drinking. I know that she used to be the "alpha-chick" you could call it, but another one had since took over. Sadly, that one died today (chick is not aware it happened) and I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it?

Was the other one that died having similar symptoms? At this age, coccidiosis comes to mind, it does not always present with blood in the droppings, sometimes just runny or mucousy. Lethargy is a big sign. With nothing else to go on I would go ahead and treat for coccidiosis, the treatment is safe and unlikely to do any harm even if it's something else. The medication is Corid, available at many feed stores and Tractor Supply, in the livestock section. It may be powder or liquid form, either will work. Dosing chart is attached, use the severe outbreak dose.
You can also give them some directly, to get it in them quicker, or if they are not drinking on their own, link to that dosing is here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/corid-oral-drench-instructions.1211991/

Hello! No, the one that just died was killed by another pet. The other chick it was with and the one that just passed did not show similar symptoms. Just this one. Right now however, she seems to be doing a little better. She's not really lethargic right now and her eyes have since opened. I'm still worried about her though, so i'll definitely pick up some Corid. Is it safe to give to the other chick as well or just the sick one?
