Be careful with the Mr. Clean erasers. We think they are chemical free but i've heard of a child getting a bad chemical burn after using one. It does have something in it. You could probably look it up on line to see the dangers.

My daughter loves her markers, all over herself and her bedroom walls!!!!!!!!

Magic eraser does the work.

I have heard that on the website that magic eraser is bad but I've used it on my daughter and got her washed up after that. Never caused any problems nor got that kind of burns that showed a pic of the little boy being burned. Something tells me its a hoax!

Rubbing alcohol works. I've used it for myself quite often.

And a story to go with it:

My dad used to build and fly the hobby radio controlled airplanes. He took me with him one day (I would have been under 10 years old). I got bored. He told me to go sit in the truck. I rifled through the glove box and found a black magic marker.

When we arrived at the field that morning the truck had been brown. When we left, the truck was brown with little black squiggles EVERYWHERE. And my bum was red for the spanking I received.

Trust me when I say the paint was NEVER the same.

My children did the same thing to each other! Just the other day! I freaked out. My husband used rubbing alcohol and it worked like a charm! I'd give him a shower after you do it, just to remove the alcohol and make sure it does not stay on the skin. But, it does work!

That would only work if the child is embarrased by his masterpiece. If he is like my daughters, he is darn proud of his work on his face.

ARRGGG!! My DD has done this too many times to count! Sharpies are OFF LIMITS in our house! Thank Goodness for Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, the only reason she was not permanently relocated to the garage!!! Never stressed too much when she got it on her hands or face cause there was never a PARADE involved!!!

Good luck with removal and we'd love to see photos!

Lady down the street used a magic eraser on her kids arm for a sharpie mark. VERY BAD BURNS!! It DOES have chemicals in it, very strong bases (which is what most cleaning products are) that burn your skin, similiar to if you put undilute sodium hydroxide on your arms. Strong bases react on the skin just like strong acids. I think New Chicekn was saying she used it in her house, as they are off limits in her house.

I would let my kids stay covered from head to toe in profanities written with a sharpie before I scrubbed his skin with that...although it does take sharpie and crayson of wall, beds and I foudn out a couple minutes ago, my deck railing.....
