From http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf228232.tip.html (TONS of ideas there):

Gentle and harmless: My 4 year old son used a black Sharpie all over his face and legs. I used a wet wash cloth and poured some "Burt's Bees Almond Oil" on the cloth, then gently washed his face and legs. It came off magically!

Beware of the tea tree oil, it must be diluted with another oil like olive or grape seed. Tea tree oil is very harsh and can irritate adult and children's skin.

my son just likes to paint his toe nails like mom, 2 weeks ago his entire foot was "dorothys red shoes" red before I caught him. And me without polish remover

Hes too dangerous with markers.

Know what? I'd just let him march as is! No one will be offended and parents who have "enjoyed" similar experiences will get a good chuckle out of it.

They do eventually outgrow self-mutilation with Sharpies, but they go on to other mischief. Sigh. No wonder we age.

Try sunscreen. Just tested it out and it worked!!

We used to wonder why my sons name was wiping off of his games at daycare and realized that he had sunscreen on his hands and was "erasing" the sharpie.

Rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball. It won't come completely off, but it won't be noticeable with the assistance of either Dermablend or, as someone else mentioned, patriotic face paint.

*says the scientist who has often spilled dye and tested Sharpies on herself*

my grandson did this last month right before getting on the school bus. When he got to school his friend jacob thought it looked cool. they are 6 and logan had drawn a pirate sword on his arm. So he drew one on jacob's arm, before you know it he done 6 of them.on 6 different kids.
Teacher said he should open a tattoo parlor when he gets older. But he got his good boy stickers taken away.
We used baby wipes and beleive it or not alot of it came off. It was a sharpie permenent.

You know how they stamp your hand or mark it w/ sharpie at a school sporting event? I get it off with hand lotion, then soap and water.

Maybe if you paint some face cream right over the sharpie lines before bed, the sharpie will just wipe off in the morning!? Worth a try? Good luck!
