Help...My chicken saddles aren't working

    Alright, so I busted out the sewing machine after my last post in hopes of putting a stop to feather loss in my backyard. I followed the pattern on backtobasicliving.com I strapped the saddle in place on 2 chickens and they did not stay in place. One flap of the ladies wings and TA DA, we had chicken capesflapping freely in the wind! This caused distress in the coop and inevitably I took them off. Any thoughts on what might be wrong or what I could to to fix them?

    I had to use diaper pins to keep the straps on, the velcro was worn down on some and a button on a different one fell off somewhere in the yard. The diaper pins can be rigged to fit under their wings with no problems whatsoever. When 1st putting saddles on them, it might take 2 or 3 days for them to get used to wearing one. It took almost a week for one of my hard headed Red Stars to get used to wearing one.
