We usually just leave them at our property in the coop and have someone come check on them once a day

Sorry, my bad, I meant "shouldn't" be left out. She needs to be in a warm, quite room or cage away from flies and other birds

It’s my father in law. A total country boy. He’s suggestion would be to “put her down”. So highly unlikely
